Seabourn, the leading small-ship, ultra-luxury cruise line, has been honored with six 2014 Magellan Awards from Travel Weekly. The accolades include four Gold Magellan Awards for Luxury Suite Design for the new Penthouse Spa Suites, Luxury Spa Design for The Spa at Seabourn, Overall Luxury Ship for SeabournQuest and Overall Loyalty Program for Seabourn Club.

Seabourn also received two Silver Magellan Awards in the categories of Overall Blog for Seabourn Blog and Marketing Website for Seabourn Academy.

“We are very proud to be recognized across so many categories by the highly respected observers at Travel Weekly,” said Richard Meadows, president of Seabourn. “The magazine’s Magellan Awards are a terrific honor and it is especially gratifying to see that our commitment to delivering an outstanding on-board product and distinctive cruising continues to win praise.”

Judging for this year’s Travel Weekly Magellan Awards was carried out by top industry professionals including Patricia Schultz, author of 1,000 Places to See Before You Die; Travel Editor Peter Greenberg of The Early Show on CBS; Rob Kwortnik, a Professor at Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, and others.

Honored with a gold award, Seabourn’s spacious Penthouse Spa Suites are among the line’s most popular accommodations, with expansive private verandas, luscious in-suite spa amenities, and the attentive services of a spa concierge. The Spa at Seabourn is a guest favorite, with a full range of services to pamper, restore and revitalize travelers including therapies incorporating natural ingredients as well as sauna, steam, and salon.

The overall luxury of Seabourn Quest also received a gold award. Seabourn Quest shines with award-winning fine dining, spacious all-suite accommodations, the Gold Magellan-winning Spa at Seabourn, and Seabourn Square, one of the ship’s most innovative features. Carrying just 458 guests, Seabourn Quest offers one of the highest space-per-guest ratios in the industry, along with a service ratio of nearly one staff member per guest.

Also honored with a gold award is the line’s Seabourn Club loyalty program, considered to be one of the most valuable loyalty rewards program in the cruise industry with the “Milestone Award” rewarding loyal travelers with a complimentary cruise after sailing 140 days. The program also offers personalized on-board and at-home rewards starting from the first cruise.

The Silver award-winning Seabourn Blog is a must-read for travelers, travel media and travel professionals alike for the latest news and photos from each Seabourn vessel. Also winning Silver, Seabourn Academy is the most extensive and authoritative sales course available for travel agents seeking success in luxury leisure travel industry, with certification that qualifies for education credits from the Cruise Lines International Association and other organizations.

Seabourn’s intimate, all-suite ships have earned many honors over the years, including a string of five awards as the “Best Small-Ship Cruise Line” in the Condé Nast TravelerReaders’ Choice poll and six “World’s Best Small-Ship Cruise Line” awards from the readers of Travel + Leisure. In addition, Seabourn has been named “Best Culinary Cruise Line” from the editors of Saveur in its Culinary Travel Awards for two consecutive years.

Seabourn’s intimate ships offer key elements that set the line apart: spacious, thoughtfully appointed suites, many with verandas; superb dining in a choice of venues; open bars throughout the ship; fine wines poured at lunch and dinner; the aforementioned award-winning service and a relaxed, sociable atmosphere that makes guests feel right at home on board. The ships travel the globe throughout the year, sailing to many of the world’s most desirable destinations, including marquee cities, UNESCO World Heritage Sites and lesser-known ports and hideaways.
